Born of southern New Mexico’s high-desert heart, Burt Ferguson and Sierra County Line are quickly becoming a local favorite with their signature blend of country soul, classic rock grit and down-home originals that speak straight to the spirit of Sierra County.
Frontman Ferguson, known for his smooth guitar work and unmistakable voice, has long been a staple in the local music scene. After countless musical pairings and solo gigs, he’s finally found his ideal groove in Sierra County Line — a band of seasoned musicians who bring both talent and heart to every stage they grace. “It took a while to find the right crew,” Ferguson said. “But now that we’ve got the Sierra County Line together, we’re ready to take the county by storm — without crossing the line.”
Sharing lead vocal duties with Burt is lead guitarist Tim Thompson, whose style effortlessly weaves classic rock energy into the band’s country roots and whose fiery solos get the crowds jazzed. Eric Mowles lays down the low end on bass while adding rich vocal harmonies, and Derrick Lee keeps the rhythm driving with his solid, high-energy drumming.
